Invisalign® Is the Treatment No One Notices
Invisalign uses a series of clear plastic aligners that move teeth in sequence for a straighter, more functional smile. Patients choose Invisalign for its convenience and stay with it because it’s effective. Orthodontic treatment with Invisalign is discreet, but the outcome is remarkable.
How Invisalign® Works
Before the patient receives their aligner trays, we digitally scan their mouth to map each tooth’s movement and final bite. Once the aligner trays have been made, the patient will begin treatment, wearing each set of trays for approximately two weeks. With each new set of clear aligners, the patient’s teeth gradually shift into the desired position, correcting misalignment, crowding, and bite problems along the way.
How Invisalign® Fits Into Your Day
Patients often discover Invisalign’s practical benefits once treatment begins. Because the clear aligners are removable, the patient can eat what they like and maintain normal dental hygiene, avoiding the food restrictions and extra cleaning required with conventional braces.
The patient’s oral hygiene routine remains virtually unchanged, making it easy for them to maintain their oral health during treatment. And while the patient will wear their clear aligners for around 22 hours a day, there’s little impact on their appearance because the trays are virtually invisible.
Starting Invisalign® Treatment
When treatment begins and with each new set of aligner trays, the patient may feel some mild discomfort because the aligner trays are exerting pressure on their teeth to gently shift them. The patient may need to practice making certain sounds with their aligners in if they find their speech is slightly affected. Getting used to wearing clear aligners normally takes no more than a week or two for most patients.
Why Gradual Movement Produces Better Outcomes
Invisalign shifts teeth in small, controlled steps, protecting dental health. Moving teeth too quickly can strain roots, gums, and bone tissue. Invisalign mimics natural tooth movement for lasting change. Daily progress is minor, but results accumulate significantly over time.
Who Invisalign® Is For
Of course, teens love Invisalign. However, adults make up a growing share of Invisalign users because the clear aligners are ideal to address crowding or misalignment or correcting bite problems. Invisalign’s core benefit is letting the patient live normally during treatment. It can fit into anyone’s routine, making it a practical option at every age.
